And away we go....

On Wednesday of last week, the players approved the new 7-year collective bargaining agreement 179-5. I would have liked to know who the five were, other than Patrick Ewing.

Steve Kerr has a point. Jordan would be training like crazy if he was going to return. Sure we have all seen Jordan back down on his "Not play for anyone but Phil Jackson claim," and he has retired from retirement once before, so we know that if he wants to play, he will.

Maybe the best thing for the Bulls would be to go for a good lottery pick next year. They will have to not sign Scottie though, because he will not be letting the Bulls lose, even though he has expressed his opinion that he does want to resign with his old team. Even though no one who likes the Bulls would want to see the Bulls lose, but while the NBA was on an extended holiday, I was watching a little bit of NCAA ball and there may be a good little draft coming this June - or July, because taking the limited season, the playoffs may go through the end of June. As of the moment, the Bulls have Toni Kukoc, Ron Harper, Randy Brown and Keith Booth under contract. Add one of the other Bulls free agents to the mix, and forget about getting a good spot in the draft. It sounds cold, but I'm pretty sure that you can take Jordan out of the equation, given the evidence, and these players are pretty good themselves. Toni Kukoc would have been a certain starter on any other team last year, and Ron Harper has proven himself throughout the seasons and playoffs, and has earned his Championship rings. So even if the Bulls don't sign either Jordan, Rodman, or Pippen, the Bulls might not get a top 3 choice, but at least they may be able to get a good spot that they might be able to trade for a higher slot.

Seeing how much under the cap the Bulls are, with only four players signed however, they might be able to snag a nice young free agent, with the new 5% more restrictions on salaries maybe someone along the lines of Antoine Walker, just to throw up a name, or maybe resign someone like Kerr and package him with someone for Golden State's Latrell Sprewell.

Speaking of whom, the Warriors are desperately and very publicly seeking to trade Sprewell, who choked coach Carlesimo last season and once all was said and done, was suspended for 68 games. Sprewell would be a great addition to the Bulls, as long as he didn't go choking any staff.
