A Horse is a Horse ... of Course

Sound at all familiar? Think ... it all started because the saddle was uncomfortable. It all started because the rider failed to "hear" or translate the horse's body language. It all started because the HUMAN, not the horse, failed to exercise common sense and realize that this wonderful horse, who has never given a lick of trouble, all of a sudden starts acting negatively.

Our responsibilty as horsemen is to LEARN about the horse. LEARN how a horse thinks and WHY the horse behaves. It is only then that true harmony can flow freely between the horse and rider. It is only then that the horse can be a horse and the human will have an enormous gift ... that gift of friendship and partnership from his or her own horse.

Oh, by the way? Dorian is happily eating his breakfast hay in the sunshine. The holes were temporarily covered up so no accident with hooves caught in wood could occur. The walls will be repaired and soon, Dorian will be coming home where he can seek shelter if he chooses or stay outdoors. Someplace where he can be a horse.

Horsemen ... THINK! A horse can only be a horse, of course.
