LAST MINUTE GIFTS FOR THE HORSELOVER ... NATURALLY!
The Equine Gift Basket: Line a nice, fairly large basket with real hay. In the basket have some raw carrots, apples, peppermint treats, Cheerios or other cereal and some homemade Horse Cookies. (recipe below - simple and easy to make!)
Wrap treats up in Saran wraps and tie with ribbon. Tuck into Basket.
Some other ideas inexpensive items for the basket include: Plastic Mane & Tail Comb
Combo hoof pick and brush
Folding hoof pick for the trail
Junior size Grooma tool
Package of Mane elastics for braiding (same color as horselover's horse!)
Small bottle of hoof polish

Latest Copy of Favorite Equine Magazine
Special, hand-made Beaded Equine Necklace for the horse!
Or beads, chimes and leather strapping to make necklace

Boot Polish/Waterproofing
Whatever else you can think of!!
Carefully tie ribbons around items or giftwrap and tuck into the basket.
Wrap entire basket up with clear or colored cellophane wrap.
Bunch together at the top and tie with a pretty ribbon.
For that extra special touch, make a homemade card, punch hole in the corner and tie it with the ribbon at the top of the basket. I guarantee your horselover will LOVE it!

HORSE COOKIES: (all natural)
Ingredients:
1 cup uncooked oats
1 cup flour
1 cup shredded carrots
1 tsp.salt
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup molasses
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix ingredients in bowl as listed. Make little balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown in color.
