Charting Your Fertility Signs: Cervical Fluid

As you age, you may notice fewer and fewer days of egg white CF. If you're trying to conceive, this can be very frustrating. When I was trying to get pregnant, it was all the rage to take Robitussin to increase CF. Since then, an ingredient in Robitussin has been linked to strokes in young women, so this is no longer advised! (That ingredient may have been removed by the time you read this, but check with the company first.) Instead, many women swear by Evening Primrose Oil, taken from cycle day one to the day of ovulation, as a way to increase high-quality CF. I've had great success with this, but always check with your doctor before taking any herbal supplement.

Once again, space limits this article to only a simple introduction to the topic. If you are now feeling familiar and comfortable with concepts like basal body temperature and cervical fluid (and you never thought you would!), don't miss next month's discussion of cervical position!
