Rain doesn't dampen new speedway debut.Despite rain, the innaugural Kroger 225 was ran at the new Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Ky. Rain did halt action for slightly more than an hour, but then it was back to racing. Mike Wallace held the lead when rain stopped the race, but the rain changed the complection of the track completely. When the green flag dropped again, Greg Biffle stole the show by leading the last 42 laps. "It was an unbelievable race," Biffle said. "Pit strategy paid off for us." The average speed for the first Kroger 225 was 98.385 mph, slowed by nine cauthions. Point-leader Jack Sprague finished second, Wallace third, Marty Houston fourth and pole-sitter Bryan Reffner rounded out the top-five. The truck series will be in action again this weekend on the road course at Watkins Glenn where they will run in conjunction with the Busch Series.
