Nemechek wins a wild O'Reilly 300…

"Boogity, Boogity, Boogity, lets go racing boys" Darrell Waltrip said, as Stanton Barrett spun his tires and everyone had to avoid him. The race started out as wild as the race ended. But, the dominant car didn't win. Brian Vickers started to pull away from the field early until Winston Cup Series driver #17 Matt Kenseth driving his Ford, passed Vickers. But on a late restart, Vickers attempted to pass the #19 of Chad Blount to the left, which is illegal to do and got the black flag. To make matters worse on the next restart, the entire field wrecked, only Joe Nemechek got away without any damage. Nemechek expects to run 15 races in 2003, like Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, and other Winston Cup Drivers.

Vickers upset for a good reason…

19-year-old Brian Vickers was upset at the NASCAR officials for a good reason, in Vickers mind he didn't pass Chad Blount on the restart he only had his tire up to his. Blount spun his tires and Vickers had no where to go but to stick that fender over to ATTEMPT to pass Blount. NASCAR should think about this rule that if a driver spins his tires this is a safety measure that they are going to have to look at.

NASCAR calls foul, but backfires on them…

How many times do I have to rant and rave over the very issue that NASCAR has made way too much BAD calls this year. Clearly, ever since we lost Dale Earnhardt everything is for some sort of safety reasons, but some are real bad calls that shouldn't have been made in the first place. Vickers, really wasn't TRYING to pass Blount, he was just trying to avoid him and instead of pile drive him into the wall and possibly hurting himself and Blount he did a move that NASCAR thought was an attempt to pass him. This cars on the tail end of the lead lap thing is just becoming a safety nightmare, maybe some more ranting and raving is in the future here.

Nemechek gets fined…

After winning the O'Reilly 300 Joe Nemechek was going to get about $67,000 just for winning the race. Now NASCAR has found that he has an illegal front spring in his #87 Chevy and his crew chief was fined $5,000 and suspended for 2 races, starting this weekend in Talladega, and NEMO Motorsports was fined $25,000 and will possibly loose some points due to the race. The win will stand but this is why the article is later than usual.
