Joe Nemecheck wins Sam's Town 300… David Green has a good day…Park, spins and almost wins… McMurray crashes primary car, goes to back up, crew chief quits… BGN Newsletter starting up… Joe Nemochek wins Sam's Town 300… When the green flag flew it was all Jeff Burton, he took the lead but, on the pole was Stanton Barrett, the field was in order from points. Burton had the best car but while leading the car lost a gas pump, and the car was on fire. This was Burton's only BGN race so far into the 2003 season. But when the rains came for the first time it was #92 Todd Bodine. Bodine is driving the Herzog-Jackson Motorsports car without sponsorship. When the race resumed after the red flag, #87 Joe Nemechek took the lead and never looked back. Joe got his first BGN win since Daytona in 2002. Joe plans on running up to half the Busch Series schedule, depending on weather of course. David Green has a good day… While Winston Cup stars Todd Bodine and Joe Nemechek battled up front, #37 David Green driving the TimberWolf Pontiac solidly finished in the top 5. Green, who was the fastest car besides Joe Nemechek was having a good day. I am not surprised; that David is doing so well because the team David is driving for is the SAME team that was with Jamie McMurray in the #27 in 2002. Brewco Motorsports is one of the teams that will go for the championship and I believe this is David's year to shine. David won the 1994 Busch Series Championship driving the #44 Slim Jim Chevy owned by Bobby Labonte. Park, spins and almost wins… Talking about a second Chance, Steve Park, spun on lap 2. After a desperate talk with NASCAR, Steve learned he had only 2 sets left. Steve only flat spotted 2 of the 4 tires and NASCAR didn't give them another complete set. So Steve was on the oldest tires of the entire 43 car field and still finished 4th. That was amazing. Steve was driving for Chance2 Motorsports, co owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Teresa Earnhardt. Jamie McMurray crashes primary car, crew chief quits… What a tough weekend for a young gun, Jamie McMurray crashed his #1 Yellow Freight Dodge and had to go to a backup car, the #1 Yellow Freight CHEVY! It was all signed by the drivers of Yellow Freight and was a show car until Phoenix Racing, owned by James Finch, knew it didn’t have enough Dodge bodies and chassis done for the race. The car had a legal Chevy engine in it. They claim that it's their best Chevy, but I think Jamie did fine in it anyway, plus Jamie ran a Chevy in 2002. But, another bad thing happened Jamie's crew chief left on Saturday, leaving the team to go to their Winston Cup crew chief for the rest of the year.
