Junior gets another Daytona win…

In a weekend that almost got Dale Earnhardt Jr. the 'Grand-Slam' of Speedweeks (wining the Bud Shootout, Gatorade 125, Koolerz 300, and Daytona 500) Junior dominated the BGN race. Well dominated isn't the word for DEI I say, luck was a big part of that. Kevin Harvick in his first race back in the Busch Series since Phoenix 2002 was a success. Harvick led a good chunk of that race and almost won it. Second place was NASCAR Star Matt Kenseth in his #17 Bayer Ford. Kenseth, was a sleeper in the field. Kenseth, is a former winner of the Koolerz 300, which used to be called the NAPA Auto Parts 300, since NAPA scaled back its funding in NASCAR, Hershey's Candy Corp. put it's Koolerz gum as the title sponsor for the race for the next 3 years.

Mike McLaughlin will skip Rockingham…

After a great weekend turned bad due to Todd Bodine and Jimmy Vasser getting together and then ending Mike's day. He will run Las Vegas in a Jay Robinson (#39?), with possible sponsorship from DWStore.com. XM Nation could donate some money to the effort as they did at Daytona. Mike is still looking for a ride past Las Vegas. Mike will try to run as many races as he can until he lands a sponsor.

Japan's Hideo Fukuyama to run 7 BGN races…

Travis Carter and Hideo Fukuyama will run 7 races in the BGN in 2003. This will be an ABC program (ARCA, Busch, and Cup). This is the very same program that Ryan Newman went through.

Citgo back Burton in BGN…

Citgo will back Jeff Burton and his Roush Racing #9 Ford at Las Vegas. Jeff won this race last year, and to date this will be the only race he is slated to run.

IRL Star may run BGN…

After seeing Jimmy Vasser running in the top ten at Daytona, Greg Ray could run a second Robbie Reiser Ford as soon as Texas. If sponsorship falls in place Ray will drive a second (#71?) Ford owned by Robbie. He will serve as a TEAMMATE to Matt Kenseth. It looks like it’s a 7-race deal to prepare him for a possible run at the full time schedule in 2004.
