Scott Wimmer wins race… Greg Biffle is 2002 champion… Silly Season Update…

Scott Wimmer wins race...

With other drivers that ran out of gas during those final laps of the Ford 300, Scott Wimmer came away with the gas mileage figured out and won the Ford 300. This was Scott's 3rd win in the last 5 races, what a streak! That's what wins you championships! Scott's #23 Bill Davis Racing Pontiac will have sponsorship in 2003 from Stacker 2 and from Stamina RX, an all natural alternate to Viagara. They are also switching to Dodge, and are also planning on running some Winston Cup races in 2002. I think he will be a strong title contender for 2003.

Greg Biffle is 2002 champion…

Last week Biffle official could say he is the 2002 NASCAR Busch Series champion, but this week the party began a little early. He started 18th in his final start as the driver of the #60 Grainger Ford, but it was his first start as the champ. Biffle found his way around the track picking up a top 10 finish. Biffle is going to Winston Cup for 2003. Biffle could also make a few BGN starts also.

Silly Season Update:

Busch Series Champion Crew Chief Harold Holly is moving to Angela's Motorsports for 2003. Angela's Motorsports is partly owned by a former kindergartner teacher, and will run full time with Mike McLaughlin as the driver. WiredFlyer.com will sponsor the car. Also, Hank Parker Jr. got a letter stating that his sponsor GNC was not returning to Team Jessel and car owner Wayne Jessel WILL shut the doors on the team at the end of the 2002 season. Parker Jr., spent 2 seasons with Team Jessel Motorsports and now is looking for a ride. Larry Foyt will move to Winston Cup in 2003 along with sponsor Harrah's. Foyt will be in a team car to Mike Wallace. Casey Mears and Kyle Busch have been talking with Hendrick Motorsports, with 2 seats open in the operation for the Busch Series they could be the next pair to take on the championship for car owner Rick Hendrick. Although Kyle Busch is under contract with Roush Racing, his contract is void because he signed it as a minor. Therefore he is a free agent after he turns 18 on May 2nd 2003.
