Kim Crosby has joined the Busch Series rookie class for the 2005 season. She will attempt to race the full 35 event schedule, joining Patty Moise and Shawna Robinson as the only female race drivers to run full seasons in the Busch Series. She will join eight other drivers who will be competing for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors for the upcoming season. Kim will be driving the #93 Chevrolet for a joint racing venture called GIC/PSE-93 Motorsports. The new team combines GIC Motorsports with the PSE-3 sports and entertainment communication, marketing and sales firm out of Raleigh, North Carolina. A Louisiana based company that produces a baby rash product called Boudreaux's Butt Paste, will be the primary sponsor on the entry for ten events and an associate sponsor for the remaining 25. "We are very excited about our full-season sponsorship of Kim Crosby. She is not only a terrific driver, but is a model spokesperson for our product," noted Dr. George Boudreaux. "She is intelligent, attractive and has high moral standards, all qualities that align well with the Boudreaux's Butt Paste brand." Kim has been racing for more than 15 years, posting a number of drag racing victories in the NHRA and IHRA. She raced five Busch Series events last season, and has ARCA experience as well. She has also been an instructor with the Buck Baker Racing School at Bristol, Darlington, and Atlanta. In the past, she has shared her racing career with her position as principal of the Slidell, Louisiana Junior High School. It remains to be seen if running a full Busch Series schedule will allow her to continue her career in education. Jon Wood, who gained fame driving the #50 Roush Racing Ford in the Craftsman Truck Series, will be the rookie driver of the #47 Ford. Jon comes from the infamous Wood Brothers Racing family that has culminated dozens of victories in NASCAR racing over three generations. Ryan Hemphill will be the rookie driver of the #4 for Biagi Brothers Racing. Mike Wallace gained a victory for the team last summer, and helped bring the team to a higher level. The team is switching to the Dodge for 2005. Hemphill comes to the team with in collaboration with Chip Ganassi Racing, where he has been a developmental driver. Reed Sorenson, the young driver who set the track on fire a couple of times during the 2004 season, will be the rookie driver of the #41 Chip Ganassi Racing entry. He'll have primary sponsorship from Discount Titles, and will use engines built by Ernie Elliott. Brian Pattie, formerly of NEMCO Racing with Joe Nemechek, is listed as crew chief on the entry. At this time, Sorenson is the odds on favorite to win the 2005 Busch Series rookie title.
