Long-Time Partnership Ended

The Cicci-Welliver team is now just "Welliver Racing" This effectively ends a ten year partnership between the two families. Scott Welliver and his cousin, Jeff Welliver, have purchased all the assets formerly belinging to Frank Cicci. Welliver Racing will continue to run their three BGN cars: The #36 GNC Live Well Chevy, driven by Hank Parker Jr., the #66 Phillips 66 Chevy, driven by Geoffrey Bodine, and the #34 AFG Glass Chevy, driven by David Green. Before the split, they WERE the second oldest team in operation in the Busch Series. It's kind of sad to see something like this happen.

Johnny Sauter Gets a Shot

Johnny Sauter will be joining Richard Childress Racing, driving the #2 Busch car in conjunction with Kevin Harvick, ie. the dates that Kevin's running in a Winston Cup race. This works out to about 15-18 races for Johnny. Not only that, but his BROTHER, Jay, will also be joining RCR, driving the #21 car when Jeff Green ventures up to WC. As of right now, Jay still has a tentative commitment to drive the #43 car for Curb-Agjanian Motorsports, when he's not in the #21. Confused yet?

Congratulations to Harvick, Sour Grapes for Green

Kevin Harvick took the win in the Food City 250 at Bristol, but somehow managed to tick off his teammate, Jeff Green. Apparently it all started on lap 228, when Green complained that Harvick pushed him out of the way to take 2nd place. Green showed his displeasure, in a very bratty way, by repeatedly ramming the back of Harvick's Chevy during the next caution.
At lap 236, Biffle blew a tire and Harvick and Green pulled into 1st and 2nd spots. Harvick easily kept Green behind him for the last 14 laps. On the victory lap, Green pulled up beside Harvick and squalled loudly, banging into his door. This is the cool part: Harvick responded by pulling away and doing a burnout at the start/finish line, sending thick white smoke into Green's car. Ha ha!

Green whined, "I guess that's the way to win them now and it's good action for the fans. He's out there doing burnouts, so I guess he'll sleep well tonight. If he wants to win races like that, that's fine. But that's not how Jeff Green does it -- I'll finish second before I do that."

First of all, can you PLEASE stop referring to yourself in the third person, Jeff? And we all know that you'd win a race using any method possible, it's just that none of them worked at Bristol.
