Mike McLaughlin has had two good finishes recently, a 2nd in the BellSouth Mobility 320(after qualifying 11th) and a 10th in the MBNA Platinum 200(after qualifying 11th.)
I think that Mike and John Monsom are experimenting with different things right now and learning to work together, which would explain the ups and downs from week to week. Mike is the sort of driver that if you give him a car that will qualify well, he'll sling that car around the track as hard as he can to try and hold on to that spot - or move up. If they can figure out the qualifying setups a little better, then I think you'll see Mike on a steady climb to the top. Another thing to be considered is George DeBidart's discovery that something was drastically wrong with the front end geometry on Hermie Sadler's car, brought to his attention by Chad Little. Could this have affected Mike as well? "No comment" from Mike on that issue, so we'll have to watch and see.
I have no doubt that Mike and George will be able to make a success of this team. McLaughlin didn't get the nickname "Magic Shoes" for nothing!

Thanks to: Mike McLaughlin and his PR man, Charlie Roakes!
