The Pennsylvania 500
The second Pocono race this season is in the books, and the win went to Jeff Gordon, his fifth of the season, and the 34th of his short WC career. There's nothing one can say, his car was great, and he turned in a stellar performance. Sure, people get sick of seeing him win all the time, but you have to hand it to him and the Rainbow Warriors, they've got it together, great car set up, great pit stops, and not too bad with their qualifying efforts. Lots of top drivers had great runs today, some got caught up in the Chad Little, Ward Burton mishap. Little checked up when he slid on some oil that Dale Jarrett's car was putting down on the track from a hole in it's oil pan. As he checked up, Earnhardt came in under him and made contact, coming off the left rear, he swung down the track laterally into Ward Burton, who spun out, collecting Terry Labonte, Ted Musgrave, and Jeremy Mayfield. A couple of other cars spun out ahead of this altercation due to the initial spin by Ward Burton.
