2001 Rookie Standings..........
Seeing that this is an "off" weekend for the Cup teams, I figured that it would be a good time to reflect on the Rookie of the Year standings.
Casey Atwood
Casey Atwood drives the No. 19 Dodge for Evernham Motorsports. He has qualified for seven out of eight races, failing to qualify at Atlanta. He is fourth in the standings with 67 points. His starting average is 19th, and his finishing average is 24th.
Kurt Busch drives the No. 97 Ford for Roush Racing. He has qualified for eight out of eight races. He is second in the standings with 76 points. His average start and finish is 25th
Kevin Harvick drives the No. 29 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. He has qualified for seven out of eight races, because was not racing in the Cup series at Daytona. He is presently first in points with 87. His average start is 16th and his average finish is 14th. Up to this point, Kevin is the only rookie to have scored a victory.
