Another top site, recently redesigned, is Roush Racing . This site includes seven drivers, along with their bios and stats, etc. One of the things I'm going to try out there is the "Ask Jack Roush" function. You'll find an online store and lots of current news and an area entitled "Inside Roush Racing."
Naturally, I wanted to check out the Richard Childress Racing site, but was disappointed to find that the site is being redesigned and under construction. All I could get was the main page. The page should be done soon, here's the link anyway, RCR Racing .
The next big multi car team on the list is Hendrick Motorsports . This site includes five drivers and is pretty much the same as the others, except for a "Speed Tech" section that covers their engines and chassis.
Another top web site is Petty Racing . This is one of those "must see" sites, covering all aspects of Petty Enterprises. There's some links to the "Boggy Creek Gang" and "Hole in the Wall Gang" that I think you'll find interesting. How can one consider their self a race fan without checking out the Petty site?
Coca-Cola 600............ A New Winner!
Matt Kenseth has powered his way into the NASCAR record book, as the first rookie to have won the Coca-Cola 600. His win from the 21st starting position is also a race record. It was beginning to appear that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was running away with the season's rookie laurels, but Matt proved he wasn't floundering in shallow water. We might get the rookie battle we had hoped for this season after all!
Eleven different winners in 12 races continues our streak of "non-dominance" in the 2000 season. The only two time winner being rookie Dale Jr., even makes it more interesting. The emergence of Jerry Nadeau up front fighting for the win is also a good sign.
Bobby Labonte came in second again, maintaining his points lead by a narrow margin. Actually, the points battle is really close, the spread from first to fifth is less than 100 points. But, it's early yet, someone can some up from anywhere in the top ten, and win all of the marbles.
Following Bobby across the line were the three Dales. Dale Sr., Dale Jr., and Dale Jarrett. It's been publicized that Dale Sr. doesn't like to be referred to as Dale Sr., but what are we to address him as? Maybe he should have thought of that before giving Dale Jr. his name? At any rate, I doubt very seriously that I'll ever get the opportunity to talk with him anyway, so I'm not going to worry about it. Addressing him as Dale Sr. certainly isn't disrespectful. He's still perched in a very good spot to claim his eighth championship, and I hope he does it!
