Dale Earnhardt Jr. won at Richmond, scoring his third victory on the season and the 12th of his career. Pit strategy helped him get the win by not stopping for a late race stop with the rest of the field. His car wasn't too good on new tires so he and the team decided that he would be better off staying out, knowing they had enough gas to make it to the end. It's abut time the Eury's made a correct decision.... The tentative 2005 schedule has been released to the media. There's a lot of controversy surrounding the movement of an extra race to the Texas facility and another race moved to the Phoenix facility. Darlington lost one race because of this move, and Rockingham lost its one and only race, which will close the facility down. Also different for 2005 is the Mother's Day weekend Cup race on a Saturday night, something new and outlandish on the circuit. The last ten races, making up the Chase for the Championship consists of only one short track race at Martinsville, along with a restrictor plate race a Talladega.
