This week we have with us one of my favorite Christian authors and an award winning author as well, Rosey Dow.
SUITE: Tell me a little about your books and what genre they are ROSEY: I started out writing inspirational romance with a touch of mystery in each one. The Colorado series is set in frontier days. There are three of those: MEGAN'S CHOICE, EM'S ONLY CHANCE, LISA'S BROKEN ARROW. The fourth in the series will come out in 2003: BANJO'S NEW SONG. I tried my hand at a Christmas novella in the collection FIRESIDE CHRISTMAS. This story is about a blind heroine in 1925 Vermont. Then I moved into more historical fiction when I wrote the mystery, REAPING THE WHIRLWIND. This is the true story of the Scopes evolution trial of 1925 with a mystery woven through factual trial events. The trial itself is fascinating. Bizarre and grossly misunderstood, the Scopes trial had a dramatic effect on our nation. When I stumbled upon the true story (as opposed to the one promoted in the media), I knew I had to write what really happened. REAPING THE WHIRLWIND won the Christy Award for historical fiction last year. Through one of my online writing groups, I met Andrew Snaden who lives in British Columbia, Canada. We enjoyed critiquing each other's work and finally decided to try collaboration. This has been a very successful partnership. It's a shift in genre for me when Andy and I wrote the contemporary romantic suspense novel BETRAYED. It's fast-paced, quirky and a lot of fun. The sequel will be released early in 2003. I'm still writing romance for Heartsong. AN UNEXPECTED SURPRISE will come out in May, 2002. Andy and I are collaborating on a Heartsong romance as well under the pseudomym, Rebekah Delaney. Our novel, FLAMES OF DECEIT, will be released in fall, 2002. Andy and I are branching out. We've just signed a two-book contract with Promise Press for a mystery series called VANCOUVER MYSTERY in which the amateur detective is a plastic surgeon. I'm excited about this move because mysteries are my first love. I've always dreamed of writing a mystery series. The first book will come out in time for Christmas, 2002. As you can see, I'm very busy at the moment. I've also got some more ideas I hope to develop this year for 2003. SUITE: Wow, you are busy. I’ll be looking forward to reading these books, I truly enjoy your writing.
