is important to you? PHILLIP: ALL OF IT. I LOVE THE WRITING PROCESS. I LIKE SUBMITTING MATERIAL. I MAY NOT LIKE REJECTIONS, BUT I APPRECIATE THEM. I LOVE GETTING SOMETHING ACCEPTED. BUT MAYBE ACTUALLY SEEING IT IN PRINT, OR HAVING SOMEONE SEND ME AN E-MAIL TELLING ME HOW MUCH THEY ENJOYED MY STORY MAKES IT THAT MUCH MORE WORTH WHILE. SUITE: Advice to an unpublished writer? PHILLIP: KEEP AT IT. IF YOU WANT TO BE A WRITER, THEN WRITE. READ. DON'T EVER GIVE UP. IT SOUNDS CORNEY, BUT YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT IF YOU STICK WITH IT. I STARTED DOING SHORT STORIES. WITH ALL OF THE ON-LINE ZINES, THERE SEEMS TO BE PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY FOR ASPIRING WRITERS TO BEGIN GETTING SOME CREDITS. SUITE: Anything that you would like to add?? PHILLIP: JUST, THANK YOU. THIS HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY FOR ME TO OPEN UP SOME AND TALK ABOUT THE THINGS PEOPLE DON'T GENERALLY KNOW ABOUT ME, THE AUTHOR. I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND INTEREST AND WISH YOU AS REVIEWER/INTERVIEWER AND AUTHOR, THE BEST OF LUCK! TAKE CARE, GOD BLESS! SUITE: Thanks Phillip, and thanks for being my first victim, I mean guest :) This interview was conducted by Lorie Ham, author of Murder In Four Part Harmony & The Trouble With Tenors, featuring gospel singing amateur sleuth Alexandra Walters, Sample chapters at: http://www.LorieHam.com
