Sanctuary is the first time that author Beverly Lewis has collaborated with her husband David, and it will hopefully not be the last. This book is a definite page-turner as you follow the life of Melissa James, who is on the run from a vicious man. She thinks she is safe and has settled down with the man she loves but suddenly she is forced to flee yet again, leaving behind her husband and hoping somehow he will understand.

Melissa finds sanctuary and God in a little Amish community. While hiding out with a kind Mennonite woman, Melissa tries to uncover the secrets of her past that have kept her on the run, and her husband Ryan searches for the answers as well. They both find their way to the truth, not only about the past but also about their own need for God, and eventually find one another. But not before the past catches up with them in the form of the man who wants the answers to a question that Melissa didn't realize she knew, and she comes close to losing her life.

This is a good book with many plot twists along the way. If you're looking for a good mystery combined with romance and faith, try Sanctuary. You won't be disappointed.
