In THE BROKEN CIRCLE Gloria Lane spins a suspenseful tale of lust, power, deception and murder. This book makes you start looking suspiciously at your own family and wondering what kind of person they really are. As much as being a suspense novel, this book is the story of a family; a family filled with more secrets and insanity than one would like to believe is possible. And yet, Lane makes it believable. The two sisters, Camille and Claudia, are like two opposite sides of a coin, one good the other evil. Their parents also play an important role in the story, turning out to be almost as opposite as the sisters.
The book begins with the Claudia's marriage; a marriage destined for trouble and born out of selfish desires. A child comes along and is used as a weapon to get what Claudia wants from everyone in her life, and then is tossed aside. This is how Claudia treats all people who cross her path. Not wanting to believe this of her own sister nearly costs Camille her life.
Lane keeps you guessing throughout the book, and sends chills of terror down your spine. If you're looking for suspense I would heartily recommend THE BROKEN CIRCLE. I look forward to her next book.
