The Twisted TriangleThe Twisted Triangle S.P. Potthoff IUniverse Writer's Showcase www.iuniverse.com ISBN 0-595-09186-5 Suspense $13.95 Trade Paperback The Twisted Triangle begins with the nightmares of a young boy, and moves to the real life nightmares of Mattie Cameron as her husband is shot and killed in a drive by shooting. After being married for 20 years, Mattie and her husband Matt were in the process of recovering from his affair with another woman as they made plans for a romantic cruise that would have been a symbol of their new beginning. But all of this changes when Matt is shot and killed and Mattie's life is turned upside down. Her life is made even more difficult by homicide detective Brandeis, who suspects she had something to do with the murder once he learns that Matt had not actually ended his affair. While dealing with both the murder and the fact that Matt had lied to her about the affair being over, Mattie begins receiving mysterious phone calls from a man who claims to have done her a favor by killing her husband. But no one else ever hears the calls. Not long ago Mattie had attempted suicide and all of this begins to push her once again over the edge and brings to light a childhood trauma that she had buried in her subconscious. Potthoff has weaved an intricate and suspenseful tale that keeps the reader guessing all the way through. It is an excellent first effort that I had to put aside at night because of her incredible ability to make you feel Mattie's terror as her world unravels; which was an effort because I couldn't wait to see who her tormentor would end up being and the motive behind his actions. If you like suspense, you should give this one a try. Reviewed by Lorie Ham Author of Murder In Four Part Harmony http://www.angelfire.com/la2/lorieham
