Painting A Songseveral versions--a dance mix where there is more drums and bass, a more "group" mix where there the instruments are on more equal footing with the vocal, and a pitch demo mix with the vocal more out front and see which gets you the best response. So if you are more visual in nature, try this approach as a new and simple way to put a song together. Then, try pitching your various mixes to the appropriate places and let the song decide where it best fits. You just never know how a judge may perceive your work, but unless you do get it completed and released in some form, you'll never know. With this method, you can do all the parts single-handedly, so you remove a lot of barriers to your work, even if it means writing your tune one note at a time. You can do it! So just keep writing, and keep having fun! (C)2005 Cindy Lee Haddock
