JEANS ARE FOR EVERYONE
As I've said before, sometimes not spending money is as good a way to raise funds for demos as coming up with cash is. If you know you could really use some new jeans, sometimes making a few hints about how you think your pants knees might be about to rip, and maybe you could work that into your act. You might find folks following you around a room, and not just because your backside is well sculpted. If you have some good jeans that you have gotten too large or small for, and especially if they are a good brand that look pretty good with wear, you might just wrap them up and give them to a relative or pal who would value them that wears that size.
ORGANIZE EVERYONE
If your music room is covered with small gadgets, you might hint how much you like someone's shelves or organizing bins and how they are just the right size for a goodie you have (fill in the blank-set of strings, your computer disks, picks, tuner, and so forth). Most of us could use ways to declutter our spaces, and if you find that you have a few work drawer boxes or shelf units just sitting around, a can of paint is pretty cheap, and you have a nice gift to hand to someone for the holidays. Even a little cigar box covered with a pal's favorite musician's photos can make an inexpensive present, and is a great way to get rid of a few of those music magazines that are probably needing to be sorted and archived anyway.
So get your creative juices going this holiday, and think up some fun ways you can clean up your home as well as knock folks off your gift list. Sometimes your pals would be just as happy to get rid of something from their home and check you off their gift lists as well, so make sure and drop those hints now to hopefully head them off at the pass before they go to the mall for another toaster, unless you are good at regifting those toasters each year to keep your gift costs down. If nothing else, folks probably want your new demo, anyway, and you could always hint you'd like theirs.
