This bit of advice when doing any kind of booking, put the most responsible, organized person in charge of this job. That doesn't mean that all band members won't have tasks, but one person needs to be responsible. The person you choose needs to be VERY detail oriented - I cannot stress this enough. This person insures that initial contact is made with the venue, confirms that the press kits go out in a timely fashion, tracks their delivery, and then follows-up with club owners. At this point in your tour planning, this person is ultimately responsible for your schedule. Any band member who is making plans for other appointments or events needs to confirm that nothing they schedule conflicts with the club schedule.
If a venue in which you really wanted to play did not book you, don't despair! If it's a first tour it's very likely you won't get stellar bookings, but use this tour to visit other clubs and meet their owners. Let them know your interest. The personal touch always helps and next time around, they may remember you when you tell them of your tour's success. Go To Page: 1 2
