Women of Music History, Part II- Hildegard von Bingen

Aug 10, 1999 - © Brad Foust

Hildegard was truly a woman ahead of her time...way ahead. Handicapped with sickness, thought to be by most scholars today as migraines, she still managed to write some of the most important books and music of her time. Look for recordings of her music at your local music store or library. Luminous Spirit and Canticles of Ecstasy are two excellent recordings. Her angelic music and visionary lyrics will give you many hours of listening and reading pleasure.
