Do you have your costume on? Do you have your goodie bag ready? All right! Time's a wastin'! Let's go "virtual treating!"
Boy Oh Boy! I love the resources on the Internet for this month! There are so many to cover for Halloween fun in the music classroom that I had a hard time deciding which ones to use in this week's article. Take for instance the first site, The Monster Mash! If this doesn't get you in the mood, then I'm at a loss. While you are checking things out at the Monster Mash, take a look at this midi link that offers some Disney songs! For a little trivia info on the Monster Mash, go to this link which will tell you what Elvis Presley thought about the Monster Mash. Check it out and come right back to continue our Trick or Treating Tour!
Ben and Jerry's Halloween Page! Lots of great links and good costume ideas too! And we've all had one of these: The Monster Crash!. *sigh* Click on the link to hear the midi. Of course, when the Sorcerer's Apprentice is mentioned, one can't forget Walt Disney's Fantasia. There is some interesting background info on Fantasia at this site as well as other goodies too. Here is a trivia quiz on Fantasia and thankfully, it comes with the answers! Dukas' Sorcerer's Apprentice offers background info on Dukas and his Sorcerer's Apprentice. Here's a place you can order Disney Recordings of some of the masters. Here is another Danse Macabre Lesson that is very beautifully displayed and sounds most interesting as well. Danse Macabre Jewelry. It's a great resource for those hard-to-find images for the bulletin board, even though some of these are a bit on the weird and morbid side. Use with discretion. Here is a "sweet" find. It's the Child's Guide to Classical Music. Another yummy find is the New Musicals for the Young Actor/Singer site. Here's another Halloween page with cute lessons for the classroom. Interesting Toys of Ghostbusters, Addams family, all kinds of things. Maybe you need an unusual October gift? Would you like the lyrics to Purple People Eater? Here they are!. How about a Purple People Eater puppet pattern? Wow, say that one seven times! Here is a shortened on-line picture of book of The Hall of the Mountain King. Go To Page: 1 2
