Catch the Wave

The first site up is an extremely useful site. Not only does this artist provide lyrics but she has put together some sound files to go with them. If you are looking for some animal songs or a song for Grandma, or even a shower song, then this site has the good stuff for you. Go to Phoebe's Songbook and have yourself a whoppin' good time. :-)

Musical Forest is a colorful site! If you read the letter to the parents, you'll see the motive behind it's creation. At this site, you'll find a couple of games, a Collosal Cookie Recipe a store for Critter Stuff, a "secret" word, Cool Stuff and a "Christmas Story?" Yes, it's a Christmas story. It reminded me of the people that leave their Christmas lights up all year long. But, Hey! Look at it this way. You can always be the first one with your Christmas stuff out and ready for the big rush! I like this site and I guess my favorite page is Meet the Critters page, because you get to hear the different sounds they each make. It's a clever site and could be used in the classroom for the introduction of orchestral instruments for the little ones.

OH! Kids! First look at this site and you may wonder why I thought this was a good spot for music teachers. Music doesn't just jump right out at you. If you'll look a little deeper though, you'll find this page that has some great links on it for music teachers. Also, I really like the way the interests are targeted and categorized by ages. It's very handy when you are needing something for that often hard to please middle schooler. Don't get me wrong. I don't have anything against middle schoolers. I have worked with them in the past and they seem to be at that inbetween stage, don't know whether they are "human or not". (that's a joke)

Novelty Songs of the 50's and 60's This is a pretty cool site, but I still don't understand why anyone would want to use a wav file that takes so long to download. (In my opinion you can't beat REALAUDIO) Oh well, if you have the extra time to check these sound files out, you should find some really fun stuff. They have a wonderful selection that ranges from one hit wonders to sweet soul music.
