More Music Software Heaven Part Two

Ars Nova Software is a leading publisher of software for music education and initially offered "A Little Kidmusic" which emphasizes the fun of playing songs with accompaniment, and includes a library of 30 traditional tunes with harmony. Now they have "Big Kidmusic" which is available via download at no cost to registered owners of "A Little Kidmusic"! They offer a great selection of children's songs too. This site is very nicely done.

Amen, Brother! to the CD LOOPER! This is a dream come true for any musician that has had to learn a piece that has a "tricky" (difficult) passage. This is an excerpt from the site:

"How much time have you wasted trying to learn your favorite song? Do you wish you could really nail down that awesome solo? Are you frustrated every time you try to transcribe a section of music? Are you sick of dealing with hard-to-use tape decks?"
The CD LOOPER!! YES! Check it out! AND music teachers get a discount, too!

Shareware Music Machine has loads to offer the music teacher. It's a great place to try before you buy.

GrooveNet is the last site to be featured in this two week spotlight of music education software, but it is definitely not least! It's a snazzy looking site that offers a search engine for looking up exactly what you might have in mind for the classroom. It also offers much more besides software, such as E-zines, various artists info, hardware and more!

For other resources in software try these sites:

  • Demos, Drivers and Shareware
  • An FTP site
  • Music Software
  • Computer Software with a section for educators.
  • Software Links
  • Check back next week for a new topic that is a surprise!! (even to me, at the moment)
