Keep in touch by computer! You can meet new colleagues and gain new ideas from fresh perspectives. Join an e-mail list or two on music education. After all,the ideas that come from these lists are already time-tested by folks doing the same stuff you are! Some lists I recommend:

Music for Children. What began as an "unofficial" Orff list has developed into a treaurechest for elementary music teachers.
When late August/early September hits, you will hopefully feel refreshed, revitalized, with some fantastic new ideas!
Speaking of new things.....it seems that September is an unofficial New Years' Day for those of us that exist around a 9-month calendar. Next week's article has some ideas for our school "New Year's Resolutions!". Planning for these over vacation can prepare you for a great next year!
