First things first. I will probably have the phrase: ...emblazoned on my tombstone. So if anything I am about to say makes you think "oh, no! I got into music so I could stop doing all of these things," then don't sweat it. Just make sure you hire a good assistant, manager or agent who can follow through. Here at the intersection of art and commerce, let's make an assumption that you're already skilled at creating great art. If you expect to stay away from that burger joint forever, you'll need to grow your audience. You can grow your audience the same way that an entrepreneur grows a business. Here's a simple list of steps you can start with: 1. Identify your audience. In the next few weeks, I'll post some specific ways you can reach all five of those goals.
