There are thousands of vest pocket museums throughout the U.S.
Actually, the vast majority of museums are small ones, either the endeavor of a handful of people with a historical society or
one of the many touristy roadside "wonders" that sprung up across the country. Folks driving by would have to catch the owners by chance and for a few dollars, investigate the sights.
Usually these were set up along highways. With the advent of
bypasses, many of them were put out of business.
