VIVA BRISBANE.....CELEBRATE LIFE!!!!

Over the next few days you will see the mural created live! The theme of the mural is "Women Helping Women" readers who know about my passion for Kathe Kollwitz ........

12 November 2001 VOICE of a Woman Kathe Kollwitz looked at the role of women who had remained steadfast against a back drop of the ruination and chaos caused by war and social unrest. She constructed pictures that made sense of it all. Her message is that there is something quintessential to human survival and happiness that cannot be equated to money, power or prestige. Nor can it be gained or transmuted through force or by tricks of ideology or processes linked to human thought. That message is love and it is the keystone to survival.

..... would know why I have felt the need to incorporate images of children. However as I find out more about this exciting venture I realise how fitting the theme and how lucky I am to have a Higher Power who has provided me with this opportunity to express my concern for the plight of homeless women and children in "The Creative City."
