Missed Opportunities

I was asked to record one consistent event over a period of five days. I chose the early morning drive to school. I decided to stop and take a photo of each place of importance as I passed it on the way. Places that I think
"Ahhhhh! I must drop in there!" Or - "I better stop and take a pic whilst I think of it."
And so here are the photos from each day, documented accordingly.

DAY ONE. Places Close To Home.

"OK. So it's dark but I am ready to go. Yaaaawn."
  • This is the van. It is a bit of an ol' bus really. But it does. I have been meaning to get the back fixed up for a really long time but can't get the parts.

"Oh well," I think "I must ring the wreckers to see if anything has come in. Or at least wash it?" I laugh.

This school is right next door! And yet I have never dropped in an application to teach art there in the holidays - crazy! You would be surprised what kind of mural contracts come from schools once the community gets to know you. Let's see what else pops up as I drive along. My business is going quite well but if I don't have an eye to the future opportunities will come and go.

"Ok," I think, "I will put in that application."

"I could be swimming quite happily every morning at 5.30am because this pool is heated." I scold myself, "and it is right next door too. Why aren't I?" I kid myself I am too busy - but - too busy for exercise could really mean trouble later on. "Hmmm? - better get an exercise plan," I tell myself.
  • DAY TWO. On the second day of recording what I pass on the way to school I take the run from the corner of my street and up the main drag. You would be surprised about what can be available in such a short stretch.

I am going to learn how to slump glass soon. I have been meaning to call into this place for ages, but never do so. Glass has always been a part of the overall plan for my mural creation business now the time is fast approaching whereby I must get organised.

"OK then!" I mutter, "holdays coming--best I get cracking."

I have been meaning to ring the number on the sign! This is because I have a strategic plan that involves placing murals around this corner. (That is a subject for a whole entire article.)
