We have migraines that can be brought on by environmental, physical, emotional or allergy. We, who experience migraines (true migraines) that cause vision blurring, nausea, sight, sound and smells make us ill. We roll into the fetal position and pray for a merciful ending to this pain and agony. Migraines render us useless as people. We can't work, we can't cook, we can't do our regular home chores, we cannot communicate and we certainly don't want to be social. It seems sometimes to those who have never had this malady that migraine symptoms are described from folks who are weak, exaggerative, and have low pain thresholds. THIS IS NOT TRUE.

Folks who have migraines, are plagued by the inconsistency, unpredictability and intensity with no sense of delight. Trust me. If you've never had a true migraine, you are blessed.

I have been offered suggestions of using ice on the back of my neck, using a cold cloth on my forehead, avoiding the consumption of wine, coffee, cheese and a multitude of foods that while a migraine is 'in progress', none would be considered, much less consumed.

Sometimes I wonder when I'm having a troubled MS day coupled with a true migraine, if I should just crawl back into the 'misfit' toybox, until the malady has lessened. I wonder if the multiple sclerosis is in charge of the migrain or vice versa!

MS is so like other physical ailments, migraines being only one of these. As we plod through these fields we will study the following:

MIGRAINES MENOPAUSE MANIC DEPRESSION MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

This should be enough to get us started. I would like to include your input on discussing these problems.
