The discovery of my spiritual path was the key to my recovery, so I would
like to share with you what I have discovered. I first came in contact with the
concept of God when I was severely burned. Soon after the initial incident,
my mother would hold me and cry and say, "God, don't let her die." I was
barely out of infancy, but because I was in terrible pain and was frightened,
the words made an tremendous impression on me.
Physical pain is one of the triggers that gives rise to a desire that seems
to be unique to the human being. It is that desire to reach out and obtain from
the universe at large, succor, release or a magical experience. It is the
birthplace of spirituality. True spirituality is derived from learning the lessons
that life teaches us. As long as I was doing the same things, over and over
again, hoping for different results, I had yet to discover my true spiritual self.
Before I could do that, I had to look at all of my experiences, all of my
pain and discover the lessons in it all. Nothing happens without a purpose.
The stars remain upon their appointed courses because there is a purpose
for it. That purpose is so that all of us will have the opportunity to grow. I believe that the
universe is an organism that is evolving, just as we as a race, are evolving. It's life span
is measured, not in years, or even ages, and not even aeons, but rather in what
are called, by the Ancient Wisdom, "Rounds". There are two type of Rounds.
There is the Active Round, and the Round Of Rest.
We are presently, here within the body of God, (the Universal Logos, the
Ultimate Reality, or whatever you want to call it) in an active round. The active round, (or what is sometimes called the
Exhalation, or when God speaks) is the round in which substance is
generated and manipulated by conscious thought and desire. The round of
rest, (or the Inhalation, or when God rests) is the round in which all the experience
that was gained during the active round is tasted, analyzed, dreamt about and
learned from.
How do I know this? Because it is what I learned as the result of my
struggle toward Wellness. And, to be absolutely frank, it is only one way of
seeing things and may not be true at all. Nevertheless, it is the understanding that I have gleaned from
all of the experiences that I have had in my life, all of the religions I have
