Horror Films: Through the Looking Glass - Part One- CHERRY FALLS
especially that of Brittany Murphy, best know for her roles in CLUELESS and GIRL, INTERRUPTED. Why she isn’t a major star, I’ll never know. She is beyond perfect in this. I don’t want to talk about anyone else in the movie because I don’t want to spoil who is or isn’t the killer, but I will say that that/those person/persons is/are fantastically funny. This movie is, sadly only available for rental at Blockbuster, mainly because they get everything that goes straight to video as this one inexplicably did. The reason as to why this never made it to the big screen is totally lost on me. The fact that I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER was a big screen event just rubs salt in the wounds. Friends, I don’t know if you take my advice or not, but as far as CHERRY FALLS goes, please go rent this one. It is so good, so funny and so weird and only a handful of people have seen it. I feel so strongly about this movie that, the first person to go see this and write me their own mini-review of it will win a special “Kingly Mention” in a future column. You’ll be hailed as a conquering hero and hey, maybe even a saint for all of the tens of readers I have. Oh yeah, I give out the goods here. And that, as they say is “that.” And by, “That” I mean “over a thousand words.” So I bid you a fond farewell until next week’s conclusion of “Horror Films: Through the Looking Glass!”
