Keitel unfortunately can't save SISTER ACT, which is yet another entry in the Nuns Are Cute type of film (as opposed to, you know, that they're servants of God). He plays a mobster who drives mistress Whoopi Goldberg, a Vegas singer, into a convent when she witnesses him killing somebody. She enters the convent to be in witness protection, but of course ends up butting heads with the Mother Superior (Maggie Smith) and teaching her sister nuns some soul. Ardolino managed to make the familiar charming in DIRTY DANCING, but here, he just makes it treacle, and Keitel could probably play this role in his sleep. He doesn't, but that won't make SISTER ACT any more enjoyable.
