Noah Hathaway; Not Forgotten

Noah Wyle
Noah Hathaway?

He has touched space, saved the mystical kingdom on the world of Fantasia and defeated the grossly troll, Torok, all by the age of fifteen.

Sounds awesome? It is!

Born in Los Angeles, California, November 13, 1971 to his parents, Robert (father, ex-actor), Judy (mother) and has one sister Aubrey. His life in front of the camera began at the age of three in commercials. He attended school at Lycee Francais de Los Angeles and was a Junior Lifeguard.

By the age of seven he held a cameo role on the sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica (1978) as Boxy, who is the stepson of Apollo (Richard Hatch I) after the death of his mother Serina (the beautiful, Jane Seymour). It is amazing how many numerous fan sites about this sci-fi, now cult, following of this futurist movie and then TV series. The series lasted one full year and then ended.

Noah was not without work at this stage of his career because he made several appearances in TV sitcoms and shows like; Eight Is Enough (1977), CHiPs (two episodes - 1977), America 2-Night (1978), Mork & Mindy (two episodes – 1978 & 1980), Simon & Simon (1981) and Family Ties (1982).

The Last Convertible (1979) was the next movie that Noah Hathaway played a minor part in. This movie was a mini-drama staring Bruce Boxleitner. This lead to his next, as a son to a character in the movie Its My Turn (1980), starring Michael Douglas and Jill Clayburgh, which was a romantic comedy, but did not do well.

At the age of ten he was cast in the movie Separate Ways (1981) where he was the conflicted son of two parents each having marital affairs. By 1983 he was actually starring in another space movie The Quest.

He later became the voice to the animation film How To Eat Fried Worms (1985) and then his career took a dramatic change of fortune when he became the star/hero of two unforgettable children movies that even adults love.

Die Unendliche Geschichte (1984) by which we Americans know as The Never Ending Story where he plays the boy hero, Atreyu, who rescues the planet Fantasia. This movie with flying dog and rock monster captured young and old viewers alike. Noah only played in the original and not the sequels. His second loved movie was Troll (1986) where he fights a troll, Torok, to stop him from summoning evil.
