Romance was a hallmark of his movie career in the 70’s with the unforgettable movie Somewhere in Time (1978) with the beautiful, Jane Seymour. Unfortunately, in real life he parted with Gae Exton (1987), keeping joint custody of his two children. Superman became a role that was inescapable; he was coined to the image by subsequent movies Superman II, III and IV. But during Superman II he met his future wife Dana Morosini (performer) and by 1992 they were married and she had his third child, William. His talent and actual pilot experience (flying across the Atlantic twice solo) gave him a desire to take part in several TV specials Celebrity Daredevils (1983), Future Flight (1987) and The World's Greatest Stunts (1990) to name a few. Christopher has played diverse roles (gay, sociopath and villain) in such movies as Deathtrap (1982), Street Smart (1987) and even horror movies like, What's Cookin'? (1992 – Tales from the Crypt) and Village of the Damned (1995). From Prince Charming to sociopathic killer, Reeve has had a total of 17 feature films and at least 12 made for TV movies with staring roles. His past times were sailing, scuba diving, skiing and horses. In 1995 he met with a severe debilitating equestrian accident that left him fully paralyzed and wheelchair bound. With crushed vertebrae to his spine he underwent rehabilitation for over six months until he was able to return to his home in Bedford, New York. His acting and talent did not stop with his disability as he has strived to act once again in his most recent movie, the Hitchcock’s thriller, Rear Window (1998). He has also hit the bestseller list in 1998 with his autobiography, Still Me. Active in all roles of humanitarian effort he has increased public awareness of disabilities through speaking engagements, his narrative Emmy Award winning documentary for HBO called Without Pity: A Film About Abilities. His roles in the movies A Step Toward Tomorrow and The Gloaming are highly notable. Down to earth, determined and strong willed are just adjectives to describe the super hero that is truly the man of steel.
