Pierce Brosnan -- Mr. DebonairIn 1987, Brosnan's wife, Cassandra Harris (actress), was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and lost the battle to the disease in 1991. At the age of 39 after a ten-year marriage, he was once again single and left with three children--Christopher and Charlotte from Cassandra's first marriage and Sean Williams from their marriage. Since her death he has had one son, Dylan Thomas, with longtime companion Keely Shaye Smith (journalist). His career took off in the 90’s with the winning roll of James Bond which lead to a series of movies, The World of 007 (1995), Goldeneye (1995), Behind the Scenes of Goldfinger (1995), Nobody Does It Better (1998) and Tomorrow Never Dies (1999) to name a few. My most loved film of this actor is a touching movie of relationships, The Nephew (1998), which I would highly recommend, off the beaten path of thrillers but significant in content. Dante’s Peak (1997) is another that cinematography was great. For comedies with Brosnan, check out Mrs. Doubtfire with Robin Williams (1993) and the spoof Mars Attacks! (1996). Brosnan’s movie beginnings were in the late 70’s and 80’s, but his true stardom came in the 90’s. He has a unique, sophisticated and charming class about him. A type of personal trait that every man would love to imitate on his first date, but it is a character trait that is entirely his own. As you might guess his latest endeavor is Bond 20 (2002) to be released. Thanks to The Pierce Brosnan Gallery for the use of the great photos to illustrate this article.
