Sutherland appears in several mindless comedies like The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) and John Bulushi’s college antics film Animal House (1978) in which he played a college professor and Gas (1981) just another comedy riddled with car chases. Thrillers and horror have been a great theme for Sutherland with cult classics like Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) and the more recent Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) now a progressive comic book where cheerleader turns vampire killer. And horror fans will always know the title, The Puppet Masters (1994). With the majority of his movies in the 70’s and 80’s my most liked movies are in the 90’s Backdraft (1991) with Kurt Russell and Fallen (1998) with one of my favorite actors Denzel Washington. Donald Sutherland has an unforgettable face linked to an endless stream of movies and television shows to which he will always be remembered as the tall guy who dominates the screen. His most recent notable movie is Space Cowboys (2000) with Clint Eastwood and a made for TV movie, Uprising (2001), set in 1943 Nazis Holocaust, the Warsaw Ghetto, where the Jews fight back.
