Tommy Lee Jones - The Man in Black


Jones returned to the live stage in the Broadway performances of The Rainmaker (1982) and Cat on a  Hot Tin Roor (1984). Jones most important TV role came in 1988 as the character Woodrow Call, the Texas Ranger who dragged the corpse of his partner (Robert Duvall) back to Texas in the acclaimed miniseries Lonesome Dove (1988).

In the 80s Jones became a leading Hollywood heavy in movies like The Package (1989), Stormy Monday (1988), The Big Town (1987) and Black Moon Rising (1986). His portrayal in Oliver Stone's JFK (1991) won him an Oscar nomination for his chilling role of co-conspirator to Clay Shaw in the actual Kennedy assassination. With this new nomination he became more visible the following year appearing as a mad bomber in the Steven Segal blockbuster Under Siege. Jones finally made his mark in his next movie The Fugitive (1993) with Harrison Ford.

Jones lives, between films, on his 4,000-acre San Saba ranch in West Texas where he was born. His passion is polo. Twice married and twice divorced, his first wife was Katherine Lardner and his second was Kimberlea Cloughley with whom he had two children (Austin Leonard, Victoria Kafka).

Jones career has credited box office hits such as John Greshim's The Client (1994), Natural Born Killers (1994), Volcano (1997), Batman Forever (1995) and Blown Away (1994). Jones has expanded his movie talents by directing and co-writing the 1994 cable movie The Good Old Boys.

Of course who will ever forget  Men in Black (1997) with Will Smith's battling aliens - of which a sequel is being made. His latest movies are U.S. Marshals (1998), Double Jeopardy (1999), Rules of Engagement (2000) and Space Cowboys (2000).
