Michael Douglas Basic Instincts

Michael is known for his characters that were sensitive yet arrogant. In 1984 he teamed up with Kathleen Turner to appear in Romancing the Stone (1984), an offbeat romantic adventure with a sequel, The Jewel of the Nile (1985), and then in War of the Roses (1989) with his old roommate Danny De Vito. In an edgier role he stared with the mentally unbalanced Glenn Close in the runaway hit Fatal Attraction (1987) and then that same year he played an amoral corporate raider in Oliver Stone's Wall Street, for which he earned his first Oscar as an actor.

Michael's directing ability led the way to his own production company, Stonebridge Entertainment, Inc, in 1988. The company has produced a number of major features, including Flatliners (1990) and Made in America (1993).

His last film of the 80's was Black Rain (1989) in which he plays a police officer who escorts a Japanese mob boss back to the U.S.

The 90's have led him to great movie successes as the notorious Basic Instinct (1992), Falling Down (1993), The American President (a romance movie of 1995) and the thriller The Game (1997). He was the executive producer for the John Travolta/Nicholas Cage thriller Face/Off (1997). A Perfect Murder, which is a remake of Hitchcock's classic Dial M For Murder (1998) came next, and then his latest movie is Wonder Boys (2000).

These are just a few of this man's accomplishments as an actor, producer and filmmaker. Michael, a true actor that has a business sense that few will ever attain. His charming, ruthless and romantic character quality fans have come to associate with the face of Michael Douglas.
