One really impressive movie was Insomnia (2002) where Al Pacino plays a police detective called to solve a murder in Alaska and Robin Williams leads him to a struggle of ethics and ultimate sacrifice.

The Recruit (2003) is an intense mind game, thriller, with a young CIA trainee (Collin Farrell). One other movie that was different was S1mOne (2002) where as a movie producer, he fools the world by using a digitized actress in his hit films.

A very popular and controversial film that won him an Oscar was Angels in America – where Al plays a very sour and corrupt lawyer who is dying of AIDs. If you find this – it is a long film but very provocative.

Al Pacino has never been married but has been romantically linked with Diane Keaton and Jill Clayburgh to name a couple. He has a daughter, Julie Marie, with Jan Tarrant and is the father of Twins, Anton and Olivia, with the actress Beverly D’Angelo.

His latest movies in production are: 2 for the Money (2005), 88 Minutes (2005) and Torch (2006). If you're looking for earthy, gritty characters, you can’t miss with actor Al Pacino.
