Sharon Stone: A Warm and Talented Actress
Sharon Vonne Stone was exceptional in studies and entered the Pennsylvania's Edinboro University at age 15 and even won the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant at the age of 17. Her beginnings were down-to-earth, small town, where she worked behind the counter at McDonalds, but later was a top Ford Model of runways and photo shoots. Appeared as a spokes model contestant (and won) on the pilot for the syndicated series Star Search (1983). Sharon played small parts at the start, like most actors. A pretty face in the background, an extra with no lines. Now she is one of Hollywood glamour stars that would rival old Hollywood. With beauty and a keen sense of control her career has moved to the top. Her appearances in film only began in the 80’s and were climaxing by the 90’s and still she is a true box office draw. She has been in many TV episodes as guest appearances on, Remington Steele, Magnum PI, Mike Hammer, T.J. Hooker and even on the law show The Practice. The first actual movie film appearance was as a pretty girl on a train in the Woody Allen movie, Stardust Memories (1980). After a few un-notable movies, she appeared beside Richard Chamberlain in the adventure movie King Solomon’s Mines (1985). She is portrayed as the damsel in distress and yet somehow saves the day. They both did a follow-up movie in 1987 titled, Allen Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold. Between these two action adventure movies she played a role in the comedy Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987). Cold Steel (1987) and a near classic, Action Jackson (1988) and then Above the Law (1988) a Steven Seagal movie were stepping stones to a sky rocketing film screen career. Romance, drama, thrillers are no obstacles to her acting abilities. Sharon really came into her own in a box office hit with, now Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Total Recall (1990). This action thriller grossed well over $119 million at the box office. She played a deceiving and cunningly beautiful wife to Arnold who saves Mars. It is one of the better action movies on the rental shelves.
