Sean has been married twice. His first wife was Diane Cilento (actress) with whom he has one child, Jason Connery an actor in his own right with many films under his belt. He divorced in 1973 and remarried to Micheline Roquebrune (1975). A major highlight of his life was when Queen Elizabeth knighted him on New Years Eve 1999.
With numerous movies behind him some of his most recent have been highly acclaimed. The Highlander movies are well known among Sci-fi fans. The first Highlander (1986) movie was a hit and was soon followed by Highlander II The Quickening (1991).
Connery is known for his help to others. He donated his salary from the movies: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971) to charities.
Some interesting facts are that Sean was offered the lead as Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings. He turned the role down do to the length of filming necessary to make the movies in New Zealand. He is the voice of Draco, the dragon, in Dragonheart (1996) costarring Dennis Quaid. He is an avid golfer and lives in Spain.
Some of his most notable recent movies are: The Rock (1996), Finding Forrester (2000) and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) where he plays Allan Quatermain with classic characters from Dorian Grey to the Invisible Man.
Sean Connery is now in his prime of acting approaching 74 years of age. He is one of the last long standing movie legends that will always be 007.
