Nicole Kidman -- Starlet of Our Time

Kidman has come a long way from the nude stage performances in David Hare’s play, The Blue Room (1999) to the big screen with Val Kilmer in Batman Forever (1995), The Peacemaker (1997) where she plays a nuclear expert with George Clooney to save the world. Another great was Practical Magic (1998) where she is a witch with her sister Sandra Bullock.

At the turn of the century Kidman was staring in the grand musical Moulin Rouge! (2001), where she expertly sings her way to fame with co-star singer / actor, Ewan McGregor. Another major movie that made headlines was the haunting movie The Others (2001) where Kidman stars in the lead role dealing with the dead.

Kidman has one sister who is a TV personality (news announcer) in Australia. Kidman is close to her family and two adopted children. She has maintained her stardom despite the Hollywood royal marriage to Cruise, the Hollywood hunk. She currently has six movies in post and pre-production scheduled as far in advance as 2005.

Nicole has made it to the top and nothing has held her back. Her current release is Cold Mountain (2003) where a wounded soldier journeys back home to Cold Mountain, North Carolina to his love, Kidman, in this Civil War drama.
