In 1988 he hit the bank with a $5 million salary in the Christmas hit Die Hard where he played the lone cop John McClane who won’t give up till the bad guy dies. A sequel to this movie was Die Hard II (1990) and then a third one Die Hard: with a Vengeance (1995), which he earned no less than a $15 million salary. His latest is Die Hard IV, which is to be announced in 2004.

Bruce was the smug voice of the baby in Look Who’s Talking (1989) and like always there was a number two movie Look Who’s Talking II (1990). Willis wrote the movie Hudson Hawk (1991) where he saves the world in a non-realistic plot and a character and Bonfires of the Vanities (1990) were two movies he should have skipped.

As a super star of the 80’s his career branched into sci-fi with the movies, Twelve Monkeys (1995) with Brad Pitt and the Fifth Element (1992) and another world saving movie Armageddon (1998) where he nukes an asteroid the size of Texas on a collision path with earth.

One comedy that was sort of funny was Death Becomes Her (1992) where he helps restore Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep to their youthful appearances after taking a potion of immortality.

Three notable films that were good were The Sixth Sense (1999) where a young boy communicates with the dead and Mercury Rising (1998) where an autistic boy solves a code that leads to murder. The third one is Striking Distance with Sarah Jessica Parker (from Sex in the City fame) where he plays a river patrolman trying to discover his father’s killer.

Bruce is an actor who you either love or hate. His cocky character attitude, save the world, nothing tougher than him or you love his ability to act and take a punch. Now at the age of 48 he is definitely a star whose movies have grossed over $2 billion in revenue (according to The Movie Times).

Willis’s latest movies are slated for 2004, Die Hard IV and one that is in production now titled Hostage where Bruce is a LAPD hostage negotiator whose wife and daughter has been kidnapped to blackmail him for incriminating evidence.

Love him or hate him, he is a box office winner who seems to have that sixth sense of hit films.
