Melrose Space. Fighter aces Freddie Prinze and Matthew Lillard star in this videogame-based story of a human-alien war. The effects are pretty standard (bullets and missiles instead of advanced weapons; old-fashioned model work of the Battlestar Galactica era; slapdash CGI effects), the fight sequences and crew scenes are copped from bad WWII movies (and Starship Troopers), and the Pilgrims (a legendary race able to jump through hyperspace without computers) are recycled Jedi Knights. We don't even *see* the alien bad guys until over an hour into the movie, and then too briefly. RATING: *
