It’s one of the most memorable Christmas movies of our time, although it was actually written long before any of us was born. A Christmas Carol, written by Charles Dickens in 1843, tells a story so simple yet powerful. It is one of the most made and remade movies ever, with versions from the Jetson’s Christmas Carol to Rich Little’s Christmas Carol, the message is the same. With a little Christmas faith, Dickens wrote a story that would be passes through generations and would set the definition of the Spirit of Christmas. And it accomplished just what he aimed for it to do:
I have endeavoured in this Ghostly little book, to raise the Ghost of an Idea, which shall not put my readers out of humour with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me. May it haunt their houses pleasantly, and no one wish to lay it.
Their faithful Friend and Servant,
C. D.
December, 1843.

And here are a few lines from modern day versions of the story, including Scrooge (1951), A Divas Christmas Carol (2000), A Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) and Blackadder's Christmas Carol (1988)…
Portly Gentleman: At this festive time of year, Mr. Scrooge, it is more than usually desirable that we should make some slight provision for the poor and destitute, who suffer greatly at the present time.
Ebenezer: Why?
Spirit of Christmas Present: Mortal, we spirits of Christmas do not live only one day of the year. We live the whole 365. So it is true of the child born in Bethlehem. He does not live in men's hearts only one day of the year but in all the days of the year. You have chosen not to seek him in your heart.
Spirit of Christmas Present: Come in! Come in, and know me better, man!
Ebony Scrooge: I had no idea Tim was sick.
Ghost of Christmas Present: You had no idea his name was Tim.
Ghost of Christmas Past: Let us see another Christmas at this place.
Ebenezer Scrooge: They were pretty much all the same. Nothing ever changed.
Ghost of Christmas Past: You changed.
Ebenezer Scrooge: You're a little absent-minded, spirit.
Ghost of Christmas Present: No, I am a LARGE absent-minded spirit!
Ebenezer Scrooge: What business has brought you here?
